Tentin' It

As Kelly would say, we're "tentin' it" this weekend up at Lake Wilson with my family.  Last summer we had a camper to escape to to get some relief from the heat, but this year, we're being true outdoorsmen and sleeping in a tent.  I won't be surprised to find myself knockin on my parent's camper door begging for a cool place to sleep.  In preparation for the weekend, Kelly and the boys put the tent up in the backyard.  It had one broken pole, but I think it'll do the job.
Bo kept trying to zip Cruz out.
(Nice gundies honey)

We'll have to let you know the outcome...if we don't melt first.

Gaga's Pool

We've enjoyed going out to my parent's pool a few times this summer.  Bo really loves it.  Cruz loves it too, but I don't so much love trying to hold on to his slippery body as he constantly tries to squirm away from me.  So what we usually do is head out to the pool right around Cruzie's nap time, then lay him down in the house while we swim.
This year Bo stand in the pool with his head above water, but he feels more comfortable swimming with his life jacket.  His mama likes this fact.
There's been a few Sundays when the whole family will go out and enjoy the pool.
We even did a little swimming with a watermelon, in an attempt to keep it cool ;)

And nothing like getting warmed up for another swim with a good jump on the 'ol trampline.

Sweet Corn

The sweet corn was ready for pickin last week.  We loaded up with the Harp crew in search of some yummy corn.

It was overcast, but very muggy and humid.  The mosquitos were horrendous and the field was swampy.  But everyone was excited to dive in with their Wal-Mart sacks in search of some good ears of corn. I don't think I ever got a pic of all six of the kiddos together.

Got one mom!!
The babies hung out on the outskirts of the field.
Once their bags were filled they were off!  Bo could live off of corn on the cob...I should've gotten several dozen!  Cheap meal for only $2/dozen.

County Fair 2010

This year we went to the fair with Kelly's sister and her boyfriend.   The weather was perfect, overcast and cool.  While we were there, we checked out the animals.
We ate corndogs.
We looked at more animals.
We did lots of walking.

We went down the slide several times.
We ate funnel cakes.
We rode the motorcycle ride.

We took Cruz on his first ride at the fair, the choo choo train.
We threw darts at balloons.
We waited in lines.
We rode the ferris wheel.
We tried for a group photo, then got the heck outta there.  The youngins were gettin tired and crabby!
Until next year....:)
